MINI has pushed its iconic Countryman into fresh territory—larger, fully electric, and packed with technology. The SE ALL4 marks the biggest evolution yet, transforming what was once a quirky subcompact crossover into a refined electric SUV. For those who’ve always loved MINI’s charm but wanted more space, AWD confidence, and zero emissions, this might be the right mix. But with its increased size, tech-heavy interior, and EV underpinnings, the question lingers: is this still a MINI?

At the heart of the 2025 MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is a dual-motor electric powertrain producing 308 horsepower and 364 lb-ft. of torque. Thanks to the instant torque delivery, it feels eager off the line—more in line with hot hatches than traditional crossovers. MINI’s trademark quick, responsive steering is still here, and the low-mounted battery helps bring down the centre of gravity, reducing body roll and improving balance through corners. Despite its larger footprint, the SE ALL4 still offers a playful drive.
Powering the SE ALL4 is a 66.5 kWh battery, offering an estimated range of 341 km on a full charge. That’s a healthy figure for daily commuting and even weekend trips, though colder temperatures brought our winter range down to around 280 km.
Charging performance is competitive. The Countryman SE supports up to 130 kW DC fast charging, capable of going from 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes under ideal conditions. With a Level 2 home charger, you’re looking at a full overnight top-up—practical for most lifestyles. While it doesn’t lead the class in charging or range, it hits a sweet spot between performance and usability.

Visually, the 2025 Countryman takes a big step forward. It’s bolder, more refined, and more upscale than before. Our Slate Blue tester wore the Premier+ trim with the Favoured Style package, featuring Vibrant Silver exterior accents and 19-inch two-tone Kaleido Spoke wheels (ours was equipped with 19-inch JCW Runway wheels for winter). The new octagonal grille, sleeker LED lighting, and sculpted bodywork give it a more mature SUV stance. It’s also 6 cm taller and longer than the previous model, helping push it into true compact SUV territory.
MINI hasn’t lost its identity. The contrasting roof and mirror caps ($700), Union Jack taillights, and short overhangs keep the MINI flavour alive. It still turns heads—just with more presence than before.

Inside, the Countryman SE is both minimalist and imaginative. Our model came finished in Vintage Brown Vescin with JCW sport seats, a black headliner, and a new 9.4-inch circular OLED display running MINI Operating System 9. It replaces traditional gauges with an app-like digital experience. The dash and door panels are wrapped in soft woven fabric—a sustainable, leather-free alternative that adds warmth and texture.
Feature-wise, this Premier+ model includes a panoramic sunroof, Harman/Kardon sound system, heated steering wheel, head-up display, MINI Navigation AR, and an interior camera. Cabin space is also up. The longer wheelbase finally brings real rear legroom, while the trunk now offers over 460 litres behind the 40/20/40 split-folding second row—about 25% more than before. Fold the seats flat and it becomes a surprisingly versatile option for small families or urban explorers.

MINI OS 9 brings new infotainment functionality, with real-time navigation, cloud-connected updates, weather widgets, and custom themes called “Experience Modes.” Driver assistance is strong too, with Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus, including Surround View.
If there’s one drawback, it’s that nearly every function has moved to the touchscreen. While the system is responsive, some drivers may miss the classic MINI toggles and physical controls.
Pricing for the 2025 MINI Countryman SE ALL4 starts at $59,990. Our tester came in at $70,090 with the Premier+ package ($7,000) and Favoured Style package ($2,000).
The Countryman SE ALL4 keeps MINI’s personality intact—it’s fun to drive, full of character, and refreshingly different in a sea of bland EVs. MINI is clearly evolving. If the goal was to build an electric SUV that retains the brand’s spirit while adapting to modern needs, the SE ALL4 delivers.
The 2025 MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is a compelling EV that shows MINI can grow up without losing its charm. It blends sharp handling, smart packaging, and premium materials into one stylish, practical package. It may not be mini in size anymore, but it’s still 100% MINI at heart.
