Lexus has long been synonymous with luxury and refinement in the automotive world, and the 2024 Lexus TX aims to redefine the landscape of three-row SUVs. Building upon their legacy of excellence, Lexus introduces a vehicle that seamlessly combines opulence, performance, and efficiency. For a week, Toyota Canada Inc. graciously provided us with the opportunity to evaluate the 2024 Lexus TX500h F Sport Performance 3 package, painted in Lexus’s Incognito paint.

Under the hood of the TX500h lies a formidable powertrain, boasting a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with electric motors. This hybrid setup delivers a robust 366 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, providing ample power for effortless acceleration. The transition between gas and electric modes is seamless, ensuring a smooth and responsive driving experience. The engine has no problems quickly reaching highway speeds, delivering similar results to the outgoing V6 engine one would expect.

Behind the wheel, the TX500h impresses with its agility and composure. Lexus engineers have fine-tuned the chassis and suspension to offer a refined ride quality, effortlessly soaking up bumps and imperfections. The cabin is almost whisper-quiet, and even at higher engine RPMs, it remains tranquil on the 22″ F Sport Alloys with winter tires. Fun fact: the inclusion of Lexus’ Dynamic Rear Steering System further enhances maneuverability, making navigating tight spaces a breeze.

Enter the cabin and discover a haven of luxury and comfort. Premium materials adorn every surface, exuding sophistication and refinement. The spacious interior offers ample room for up to seven passengers, ensuring everyone travels in utmost comfort. The third row is surprisingly comfortable for adults, but more suited to young adults. Every seat in the TX boasts amenities such as climate control vents, USB-C ports, and padded armrests, ensuring maximum comfort. Cargo capacity is equally impressive, with ample room behind the third row for luggage and gear, surpassing competitors like the Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60.
The integration of advanced technology further elevates the driving experience, with features such as a 14-inch touchscreen display, a 360-degree camera system, and a 21-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, which represents all the audio magnificently. Lexus’ suite of driver assistance systems provides peace of mind on every journey, with features like Proactive Driving Assist and Pre-Collision avoidance systems.
With generous cargo space and flexible seating configurations, it’s well-equipped to handle the demands of modern lifestyles. From family road trips to daily commutes, the TX500h effortlessly adapts to meet your needs. Additionally, towing capabilities of up to 5,000 pounds ensure it’s ready for any adventure.
Fuel efficiency is commendable, with an estimated rating of 8.7L/100km in the city, 8.4L/100km on the highway, and 8.6 L/100 km combined. Our observation for the week with mostly highway driving was 8.2 L/100km with a relatively light foot, making it one of the most efficient options in its class.
The base TX350 starts at an aggressive $68,750, while the TX500h comes in at $84,200. However, our as-tested price is $92,505 with the inclusion of the $6,000 F Sport Performance 3 package. With various trim levels and optional packages available, pricing can vary based on the chosen configurations. However, even at its base price, the TX500h offers exceptional value for the luxury and performance it delivers.
The 2024 Lexus TX500h stands as a testament to Lexus’ commitment to excellence. It’s the perfect balance with the Direct4 AWD system; it’s the one to have. Its blend of performance, efficiency, and luxury sets a new standard in the world of three-row SUVs. The TX500h meticulously crafts every aspect, from its refined driving dynamics to its opulent interior, to deliver an unparalleled driving experience. For those seeking the pinnacle of luxury and versatility, look no further than the Lexus TX500h.
