Evolving over the years, the LC500 continues to charm with its sleek lines and refined interior. This iconic vehicle’s journey reflects a steadfast commitment to excellence, extending an invitation for enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the style and innovation that define the Lexus LC500.
The 2023 Lexus LC500, a marvel of automotive design and performance, left an indelible mark during our extensive evaluation week, courtesy of Toyota Canada Inc. The striking Flare Yellow of the Lexus LC500 not only caught attention but also underscored its bold and distinctive presence on the road.
Under the hood, the 2023 Lexus LC500 packs a punch with its strong 5.0-liter V8 engine (2UR-GSE), delivering 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission, it’s not just about speed—it’s about the sound: at idle, the engine purrs with a low rumble, hinting at the power within, and when you step on the gas, you’re treated to a pleasing melody synchronized with the seamless shifts. It’s more than a drive; it’s an experience. The LC500 isn’t just a car; it’s a performance with a soundtrack, turning your city commute or highway cruise into a musical journey.
Our 2023 LC500 came equipped with the Performance Package, introducing distinctive features to the LC500. These additions include sport seats, a rear performance damper, an Alcantara headliner, carbon fibre-reinforced polymer scuff plates, 4-wheel active steering, a carbon fibre roof, an active rear sport differential, variable gear ratio steering (VGRS), Alcantara and leather seats, a retractable rear spoiler, and 21″ forged alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin tires (P275/35RF21 for the rear and P245/40RF21 for the front). This highlights the LC500’s unwavering commitment to both style and performance.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, the precision of the LC500’s steering is immediately evident, and the innovative Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) takes this precision to a new level. This system adapts the steering ratio based on the driving conditions, seamlessly transitioning between sporty responsiveness and a refined, controlled feel. The result is an optimal blend that caters to both spirited manoeuvres and comfortable cruising. Elevating the auditory experience to new heights, the 2023 Lexus LC500 boasts the exclusive Mark Levinson Premium audio system. The audio masterpiece is uniquely tailored to the cabin’s acoustics, featuring an impressive 13-speaker configuration and a powerful 915-watt soundstage. The premium sound system immerses occupants in a symphony of clarity and precision, making every journey an unforgettable auditory delight.
The LC500 achieves competitive fuel efficiency, with Natural Resources Canada reporting 15.1L/100km in the city, 9.6L/100km on the highway, and 12.6L/100km combined. Notably, our observation of combined driving during the evaluation week yielded an impressive 11.8L/100 km.
The 2023 Lexus LC500 presents a compelling proposition for luxury coupe enthusiasts. While specific pricing can vary based on optional features and trims, the starting price of $105,200 positions the LC500 competitively within its class. The Performance Package on our test vehicle adds $18,450 to the bill, bringing the as-tested total to $123,650. Buyers have the flexibility to customize their LC500 with various available trims, features, and colour options, allowing for a tailored and personalized driving experience.
The 2023 Lexus LC500 is all about sophistication and performance.
